Hi, I’m Tomi!
That’s pronounced Toh-me. I write closed-door romances about big dreams, unexpected friendships, and finding love when you least expect it.
Before I started writing romance, I earned my master’s degree in history and spent a few years in academia. Eventually, I traded footnotes and research papers for fictional worlds and happily ever afters. I still love all the little details that make a story feel real, from the setting and characters to the tiny quirks that make them memorable.
Outside of writing, I’m a mom, reader, former figure skater, and very proud cat lady. I run on coffee, chocolate, and whatever sweet treat I can find—and if it’s pumpkin flavored, even better.
Why I Write for Hopeful Romantics
I actually started out thinking I’d write Regency romance. I’ve always loved reading Pride and Prejudice variations, but it didn’t take me long to realize that I enjoyed reading them a lot more than I enjoyed writing them.
So, I gave contemporary romance a try. I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could actually write a full story. Before my first novel, I’d never finished a complete draft! Making that change opened up a whole new world for me.
The stories I write now are really the stories I always wanted to find as a reader—characters I could root for, heroes I could fall for, cozy settings, and plenty of happily ever afters.
