Clarissa Lee the world’s hottest up and coming fashion designer recently sat down for an exclusive one-on-one interview with Lea Huang of Fashion Today.
Lea: Thank you so much for taking the time to grant me an interview, Clarissa, it’s a pleasure.
Clarissa: Thank you for asking me.
Lea: Let’s start with the the number top question from our reader poll…will you be designing the wedding dress for our next royal bride, Amanda Collins?
Clarissa: For that question, I’ll have to direct you to the Office of the Prince of Wales.
Lea: Not even a hint?
Clarissa: *Smiles apologetically and shakes her head*
Lea: Let’s turn to yourself. How are preparations for your own wedding coming along?
Clarissa: Paddy and I have agreed that we will be hosting our wedding on his family estate. It will be a strict family affair sometime late next summer.
Lea: Rainridge Manor has become quite a hot spot for weddings in recent years.
Clarissa: Yes it has. Paddy has put in so much hard work and seeing the estate thrive brings me so much joy.
Lea: Will you be taking any time off following your wedding?
Clarissa: I will. I’ve been designing non-stop since Clara’s wedding two years ago and in truth it’s taken a toll. Mental health remains a cause close to my heart. My plan is to take some time to myself and settle into married life for a few months. The team of young designers I have on my staff is amazing and I know that they’ll accomplish great things without me.
Lea: Will you be designing your own wedding dress?
Clarissa: I will. Following Chinese tradition, a bride normally changes their clothing at least three times. I have at least that many dresses to design for myself.
Lea: That sounds like a lot of work!
Clarissa: It is, but when I imagine seeing the smiles on my family’s faces, it will all be work it.
Lea: Recently, we’ve heard rumors of your involvement in new television show, what can you tell us about it?
Clarissa: *Cheeks flush red* The show in question will be revolve around brides finding the perfect dress for themselves in my boutiques. What sets us apart from ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ is that these brides are each nominated by their friends and family to receive a custom dress. It’s important to me that brides of all shapes and sizes and from all economic backgrounds have the ability to find a wedding dress.
Lea: That sounds wonderful.
Clarissa: I have one additionally announcement to make…starting next year, I’ll have a line of affordable wedding dresses launching in several department stores. The plan is for all dresses to be below the price-point of two-hundred pounds.
Lea: Oh! What stores should we look for these dresses in? How many styles will you carry?
Clarissa: My business partner, Sonya will be announcing the details next month. Unfortunately, I don’t have them in front of me. To answer your second question, I believe we’ll be carrying ten styles for the first collection, but don’t quote me on that.
Lea: Well, it looks like our allotted time is just about up. It appears your handsome fiancée is here to steal you away to lunch.
Clarissa: He’s the sweetest man in the world. He takes me out to lunch or cooks for me everyday he can. I’m a lucky woman.
Lea: Thank you again, Clarissa.
Clarissa: My pleasure.
